Thus I blog again

This is the first time in weeks that I’ve been in the mood to write. And yes, I’m still addicted to SunshineMU, though recent changes maybe pushing me to search for alternative servers.

I have some slack time in the office today. We’re able to finish the first collaborative project, which took over a week. Now, we’re waiting for word from our mentor on what’s coming next, most probably in ASP.NET. The official training starts on the 26th of May, less than a week from now. We’re expecting up to six more trainees to come, up from five since one of us left last week.

The commute is a nightmare. It takes over an hour to get from the apartment to the office, encompassing a short walk, bus ride, a train ride, another short walk, and another bus ride. The train ride is the fastest way to get through EDSA but staying in a cramp metal enclosure for thirty minutes is not my thing. Consider yourself lucky or really slick if you get to sit. Let’s not forget the way up onto the station platform and into the train itself. Nothing but a mini stampede is close to it. I won’t force myself to go through that for the next couple of years, I opt to move soon to somewhere much, MUCH nearer in a couple of months now.

Aside from the impending change of address, I’m thinking of opening up a new savings account in the coming months, could have been weeks but I lack a secondary ID. Normally, they [the bank] would still require me to be regularized first before they honor the company ID, but it wont hurt to try after just a few months.

So that’s my situation for now. I consider it to be far better than when I was still in my first job. I got news that my old colleagues have not been paid their full salary for April 15, and not a centavo from their April 30 and May 15 pays. Sad. Though I do not expect to get a backpay, I still wonder when that company will ever get on higher ground.

The past month was rather tight. Had to borrow thousands of pesos from my family and friends to keep myself afloat. (Promise to pay y’all!) And all that free *unproductive* time wasn’t exactly all FUN. Now, I’m glad that things are finally looking brighter now, especially that my love and I are still together, closer than ever. I’m looking forward to celebrating out first anniversary, and many more after that. :D It’s one thing to be independent and alone, and another to be independent yet with people who are willing to support you as best they can. Thank you.
